Almost isn't enough. We make sure your site traffic actually converts.

Sure, you could pay to get people on your site — but is it pulling its weight? Turn aimless scrolling into deliberate, high-value action with conversion rate optimisation.

Any of these sound familiar? We've heard the struggles, and we've got the fix.

Traffic Up, Sales Down?

Getting people to your site is one thing. Getting them to do something once they’re there? That’s where CRO comes in. We optimise your pages, buttons, copy, and UX so visitors stop bouncing — and start buying. Because traffic without conversion? That’s just expensive window shopping.

Complex & Confusing User Journeys?

Lost visitors don’t convert. In fact, they barely even browse. We map out your full funnel, simplify the steps, and optimise every interaction — so the path from “just browsing” to “just bought it” feels seamless. Good UX isn’t just pretty, it’s profitable.

High Bounce Rates?

Ugh. They were so close. If bounce rates are killing your momentum, we'll identify exactly where users are dropping off and why (via scroll depth, click maps, and user behaviour) — then plug the leaks to turn those exits into engagement into conversions. Repeat ones too, to get biggest bang for buck.

Super Slow Website Speed?

Rule of thumb is if your site takes over three seconds to load, you’re losing people (and money). We audit performance, load times, and optimise images, scripts, and hosting — even if this means a monster project of migrating your CMS. Because no one likes to wait when other options exist.

Low Average Order Value?

Sometimes, people buying still isn't enough. Many factors play a role in profitability, so we optimise your upsell game. Think upsells (pre- and post-purchase), bundles, cross-sells, tiered offers, and free shipping thresholds that gently (or boldly) encourage bigger baskets and more value per customer.

No Idea What's Working... Or Not?

If you’re making changes blindly, you’re wasting time. We implement structured and measured A/B tests across key elements (incl. headlines, CTAs, layouts, offers) so you can scale what works, and bin what doesn’t. Guesses don’t convert. Tried and tested does.

Let's Get Cooking

What's in the CRO sauce?

User Behaviour Analysis

Three little words. Sounds simple enough, but trust us — it isn't.

"User Behaviour Analysis" is an umbrella term for a plethora of systematic research processes designed to identify any glaring (or hidden) problems on your website. Specifically, to find traffic leaks and funnel drop-offs that may pose as barriers to conversion.

Like we always say: You can't fix a problem without finding it first.

So, what does it include?

  • Event flow analysis via reviewing GA4 data for bounce rates, session durations, exit pages, funnel drop-offs, etc.
  • Analysing users' on-site behaviour in the form of heatmaps, click maps, session recordings, scroll depth analysis
  • Heuristic analysis, involving experience-based assessment of UX through site walkthroughs and testing

Et cetera, et cetera. Can't give away all our trade secrets even before day dot, can we?

Landing Page Design & Website Deployment

If you've nailed the ad, it'd be a real shame if the landing fell flat.

We partner with some of the industry's best landing page design and LPO experts to build you custom, bespoke and high-converting landing pages from scratch — swiftly, too. All in a bid to seamlessly bridge the gap between your campaign messaging and on-site experience. Because we all know that Meta / Google favours and rewards ads that accompany a smooth and congruent user experience post-click.

So, sometimes the most efficient way to do that is with a clean slate.

From copy and page structure to content strategy, design, deployment, embedded forms, topped off with event tracking (obvi), we handle the full shebang. All you'll need to do is one initial questionnaire and the final review.

Whether it’s for lead generation, product launches, or specific promotional campaigns, our bespoke landing pages are laser-focused on a single goal — Conversion.

And they work. Dedicated landing pages often convert up to 2.5x higher than standard site pages, due to a lack of distraction and intentionally included content. When message matches mission, magic happens.

A/B Testing & Experimentation

Trusting your gut is one thing, but the same way it wouldn't fly in court, it probably wouldn't in marketing. Data, on the other hand, is much harder to argue against.

All optimisations we do first start with hypotheses, then running A/B or multivariate tests across your ads and landing pages to figure out what actually converts. This means headlines, CTAs, layouts, images, copy, apps, plugins, offers... (Free shipping vs. 10% off can make or break a sale)

And of course, we bring to the table a testing framework that means our efforts don't come in sporadic bursts, but a consistent one that targets all areas of improvement, little by little.

We also test landing page variants by audience or traffic source, because the TikTok crowd doesn’t behave like the Google one, and your VIP customers don’t need the same nudge as first-timers.

TL;DR — We build a practice of experimentation that keeps your brand learning, improving, and scaling.

eCommerce UX & UI Optimisation

In the realm of digital, your online store is the equivalent of a virtual salesperson.

Meaning it shouldn't just look good; it should sell like hell.

Our conversion rate optimisation strategies fine-tune your entire shopping experience to remove friction, instil trust, and guide every visitor towards checkout. Or just login via Shop — we rate that.

From product page layouts (ft. high-res imagery, review widgets, and trust badges) to intuitive add-to-cart and checkout UX, we'll optimise the eComm experience from first scroll to final checkout, making every page more persuasive and primed to convert. Think smart upsells, cross-sells, urgency messaging, curated bundles, review widgets, sticky CTAs, shoppable UGC, personalised navigation quizzes, and banners that sell instead of sitting there.

And of course, mobile-first always. After all, those iPhones (and Androids) are the primary channel for online sales, with 72.9% of eCommerce transactions occurring on mobile devices.

We also know Shopify's best apps and plugins like muscle memory, to get every solution live fast.

Market & Competitor Research

Our eyes aren't just locked in on your website — we keep tabs on everyone else in the room.

As part of our ongoing process, we undertake Market & Competitor Research that dives deep into your industry and niche to find out what others are doing… And what they’re missing.

We run full competitor website audits, breaking down how rival brands structure pages, position USPs, use social proof, build trust, and design their CTAs. Then we highlight the gaps, so you can overtake their efforts with smarter strategy and sharper execution. And if you're the type to prefer information straight from the horse's mouth, our experts are no stranger to focus group discussions, user testing, exit intent pop-ups, and market research surveys.

You'd be amazed how much first-hand intel you can get from a simple questionnaire.

Value Proposition Audits & Message Mapping

Are you saying the things you think work, or what your customers want to hear / truly care about?

Experts say you’ve got three seconds to make a first impression, so your hook (whether in video or in text) is always of the essence. We audit your landing pages and site to see if your core USPs and value propositions are clear, compelling, and conversion-ready. If visitors don’t immediately get what you do and why it matters… Bye-bye.

We make sure your messaging hits above the fold.

No jargon, no guessing games, just clarity that converts.

And we always try to opt for visuals over long-form prose, even if that isn't evident here. Meaning icons, infographics, bullet points and other easily digestible forms of writing.

Then we'll take it further too. Not every audience responds to the same pitch, so we'll test different angles, hooks, and emotional triggers to find what lands best with each demographic, funnel stage, or traffic source — especially when said traffic is sent to your site via paid ads.

Welcome to a day in the life of Meg-Mel, our Head Chef.

09:30 am

CONFIGURE SHOPIFY APPS & PLUGINS.

Now, it's important to note that at all times, Meg-Mel juggles multiple projects at once. As our Head Chef, she manages all our internal marketing initiatives, social presence, website content, general vibes... The works.

Meg-Mel's the one writing this now (and every other page you might have visited so far).

But in this DITL, we're focusing on her CRO exclusive days. What would a day like that entail?

Probably improving a number of key metrics across our accounts (i.e. conversion rates, AOV, bounce rates, and on-site CTRs). Some easy fixes? Upsells, pre- and post-purchase — exactly what she's setting up now.

Meg-Mel's in the Shopify backend creating granular upsell modules to maximise the value of every customer. Other days she might set-up eCommerce subscriptions, sometimes bundles. Maybe it's a GwP offer or a navigational quiz. Shoppable UGC? More reviews and social proof? Totally dependent on where the gaps are.

10:15 am

DATA ANALYSIS.

But to find those gaps, Meg-Mel has to spend some time on the analytics tools.

Which yep, includes Shopify. But also GA4, Hotjar and Microsoft Clarity. Here, you'll catch her looking over tables and graphs of numbers upon numbers, finding hidden leaks in our clients' website funnels.

Heat maps, session recordings, scroll depths, and rage clicks are all in the equation too.

11:00 am

WEBSITE AUDITS & OPTIMISATION PLANS.

Nothing builds up an appetite like auditing a site with heaps of untapped potential.

Meg-Mel's just gotten word that a new lead's come through, and their conversion rate? 0.19% this week. Shocking. Mortifying. Criminal, almost.

Meg-Mel cannot wait to rip this website to shreds (figuratively and politely, of course) and identify where its shortfalls lie. Are there loads of distractions obstructing purchase? Do people even know what the product or service is? Whilst we're at it, does the checkout even work 100% of the time? Question everything.

12:30 pm

Finally. Lunch time. Meg-Mel's never cooked a day in her life, which is ironic given her Head Chef title.

But all this means is that the world (or Prahran) is her oyster when it comes to lunch every day.

01:30 pm

LANDING PAGE DESIGN & WEBSITE BUILDS.

Back at it. Next up on the CRO schedule is full builds. Of what? Landing pages, and the occasional website from start to finish — which is something we DO do at DataSauce.

We're talking copy, wireframes, UX flow, page design, tracking set-up... Meg-Mel works closely with the team to bring this all to life. Whether it's Joe for CRM integrations and reviews, Lauren for design and brand assets, or Crestabella for automating and measuring data points. Real full-service digital marketing agency behaviour.

04:30 pm

A/B TESTING.

Headlines, CTAs, offers — we test it all using a structured A/B testing framework that actually tells us what’s working. And we often only test one variable at a time, because too much change clouds the real contributors.

Meg-Mel is crafting an A/B testing plan for an FMCG brand as we speak. Including clear hypotheses, defining success metrics upfront, listing out potential CRO ideas, and creating a reporting template to then track the data.

After all, if you're not testing with purpose, you’re just redecorating.

05:00 pm

MARKET & COMPETITOR RESEARCH.

In another life, Meg-Mel would be a private investigator. She's got the skills for it for sure.

But in marketing, those skills are put to good use in the form of market and competitor research. Last hour of the day is spent extracting and sourcing for inspo across the WWW (World Wide Web) — of our clients' competitor brands, and beyond. Meg-Mel finds the best of the best, and ideate ways we can pitch and propose those solutions.

Don't let those burning questions catch fire.

How much would it cost to work with DataSauce?

No two clients are alike, and we aren't a one-size-fits-all agency. Meaning this depends.

When we enter a partnership, DataSauce becomes an extension of your marketing team — not your throwaway digital marketing agency. So, we build bespoke pricing based on your goals, your growth stage, and the level of support you actually need. You can pick and choose from our à la carte service menu, and we’ll craft a strategy (and price) that fits.

You can also find out if we're a good fit here.

DataSauce leans on value-based pricing instead of costing out by time and material.

You're not just buying hours, you’re investing in outcomes. And we price accordingly. But one thing remains for certain: We'll always get your sign-off before charging out any extra costs.

Transparency and alignment are non-negotiables.

What is Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO)?

Here's what we tend to say when explaining it for the very first time: CRO is a systematic process of website optimisations to increase the percentage of visitors who take a desired action (aka. convert)

It's improvements beyond ad level, to turn aimless scrolling into purchases, leads, sign-ups or enquiries.

So, CRO is all about making the most of the traffic you already have.

The goal is to remove friction throughout the customer journey so that it is easier AND more compelling for your visitors to convert. With better conversion rates, you'll then generate more of whatever your KPIs might be without sending more traffic, resulting in a higher return on investment (ROI). We'll tweak, test, and fine-tune elements on your website / landing pages, in ways that involve data, design and consumer psychology. This includes your messaging, USPs positioning, CTAs, images, offers, and more — all to give you extra legroom to scale.

What elements make a high-converting landing page?

Look, it really depends. A must-have element for a fashion brand might be size guides and the ability to toggle between product variants. But if you're doing legal services, you might need embedded lead generation forms and scheduling tools. Rest assured, we've got best practices for all different industries.

But if we had to pull a list of somewhat universal must-haves:

  • A clear, punchy value prop or USPs above the fold
  • One focused, unmissable CTA / call-to-action
  • Social proof and trust signals like reviews, testimonials, or "As seen in" PR content
  • High-quality visuals (e.g. think product imagery, videos, or infographics)
  • Clean, mobile-first design and lightning-fast load times
  • Messaging that matches the ad or traffic source that brought users there

Zero friction, zero fluff. Everything on the page has a job to do.

What is a good conversion rate for my business?

Classic. And to a classic question, we (unfortunately) have to give a classic answer: It depends.

Industry, business objectives, traffic sources, offer types, and target demographics all play a part.

As a very loose benchmark, most eCommerce websites convert at around 1–3% globally. But with CRO in place? We've seen landing pages convert at over 10%, and can climb even higher during major sale periods.

The real goal? Beating your own baseline. And that of your competitors. Once you niche down your vertical, we can absolutely pull some numbers on typical benchmarks within your space, as well as for AOVs, CTRs, so on and so forth.

Just a little hard to tackle them all within this one FAQ, hey?

How does CRO affect my paid advertising strategies?

Think of it like baking a cake. You could have all your ingredients prepped and mixed in, but without popping it into the oven? It's just batter. Your website is said oven. And per this analogy, you could spend all the money in the world on paid ads — but if your landing page / website isn’t doing its job and converting the acquired traffic into sales? The end result is still an impossibility. No conversions, just an unbaked cake.

We've also scaled accounts where the paid ads strategy? Already close to perfection.

Either that, or they're not quite equipped to spend anymore budget to scale.

In both those instances, one might think that the limit is reached, and that they've hit a wall (at paid ads level, that is). But that's where CRO comes in, to maximise the return from everything you've acquired with the spend you've spent.

With these on-site tweaks and implementations, more visitors end up converting — meaning lower CPAs, higher ROAS, and way more bang for your paid media buck. All without forking out an extra cent.

Plus, when your pages perform better, platform algorithms (like Meta, Google, and TikTok Ads) reward your campaigns with better placements and cheaper clicks. Win-win.

TL;DR — Great ads bring people in. CRO makes them stick around, take action, and come back for more.

How do I calculate conversion rate for my website?

You'll need the following metrics:

  • Number of site visitors or users, whatever you call it.
  • Total number of complete conversions.

Divide the number of conversions during a fixed period by the total number of people who reached your landing page or your site. Take that, and multiply it by 100% → (Conversions / Total Visitors) x 100%

How does A/B testing work when it comes to CRO?

A/B testing is the not-so-secret weapon behind every smart CRO strategy. It lets us split test two (or more) versions of a page — maybe it’s a headline, CTA, layout, image, or offer — and see which one ultimately performs better.

It's typically performed by creating two versions of a page (Version A vs. Version B) with one primary difference. Perhaps one CTA says "Shop Now" and another, "Learn More" whilst all else stays constant. Via split testing platforms, website traffic can be evenly split under the same domain to randomly show some users one version, and the remaining 50% get Version B. All actions are then tracked to know which delivers greater results.

A/B testing eliminates speculation through data-based insights on what users like, allowing brands and marketers to confidently adopt the higher-performing variant as your own personal best practice.

No guesswork. No vibes only. With a proper testing framework, these A/B tests set a hypothesis, define success metrics (e.g. conversion rate, CTRs or AOV), run the experiment, and scale the winner — which is crucial because sometimes, even a 1% uplift can mean thousands in revenue.

What KPIs should I track when it comes to CRO?

Every business has a different definition of “conversion” and success. But no matter your goals, CRO "wins" often come down to tracking the right stuff. Here are the heavy-hitters we'd keep an eye on:

  • Number of sales: The big one. Are users buying?
  • Average Order Value (AOV): How much they’re spending once they do.
  • Macro & Micro Conversion Rates: Major actions (aka. purchases) and smaller ones (e.g. email subscribes, ATCs).
  • Revenue per channel: Which traffic sources are actually delivering the goods.
  • Conversion & bounce rates: Broken down by device, browser, etc.
  • Exit rates per page: Where people are loving and leaving you? And why?
  • Cost Per Acquisition (CPA): Are your conversions costing more than they’re worth?
  • Email subscribers or list growth: A crucial micro-conversion, especially for retention.
  • Return on Investment (ROI): Self-explanatory, we reckon.
